About the Role
This opportunity places a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse on a 23-bed unit at a Level I trauma center and Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, Illinois. The unit serves adult and geriatric patients, managing complex cases including neurovascular conditions, post-surgical care, and trauma. The role is designed for a night shift schedule, requiring the nurse to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care for patients with neurological and traumatic injuries.
Candidates will be expected to perform specialized procedures such as IV insertions, EEGs, and lumbar punctures. The position offers the flexibility of a block schedule and requires the ability to float as needed within scope, though no on-call duties are required. Previous charge experience is preferred, and the role involves working two out of three major holidays.
