As a Travel Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical unit, you will deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care. This role involves supervising and directing the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, coordinating care with other disciplines, and utilizing critical thinking and professional discretion.
The unit features a total bed count of 29, consisting of all post-surgical beds in single rooms. Staffing ratios are maintained at 1:4 or 1:5. While floating to Medical and Tele units may occur occasionally based on staffing needs, call requirements are not applicable. The team is supported by 24/7 hospitalists, pharmacy, phlebotomy, and unit secretaries, as well as a patient mobility team to assist with walking patients. The unit utilizes Omnicell for medication management and Epic for documentation.
