About the Assignment
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Mixed Acuity ICU position at a Level II Trauma Center in Montgomery, Alabama. This 13-week assignment focuses on a 18-bed mixed acuity unit serving both intermediate care and non-vented ICU-level patients. The unit operates with a dedicated culture-building phase, featuring a shared commitment to improvement, accountability, and staff voice.
The patient population is diverse, including neurological and post-procedural patients (such as those post-TNK, neuro IR procedures, hemorrhages, aneurysms, and spinal cord injuries) as well as those with respiratory failure, CHF, sepsis, and acute neurological diagnoses. The environment is supported by a robust team including CNAs, a dedicated educator and nurse mentor, 24/7 respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists.
Hiring Process & Application
Candidates should be prepared for a SimpliFi interview; this facility does not use auto offers. To be considered, you must submit the following documents: a full SSN on the coversheet, a reference from a charge nurse or above within the past 12 months, a copy of certifications, and your date of birth (day and month).
New-to-facility travelers and those who have been away for over a year will complete 24 hours of classroom orientation and 24 hours of on-unit orientation. Please note that former permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler. Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position.
