TravelNurseSource is partnering with Cynet Health to locate a qualified Registered Nurse specializing in Endoscopy for a 13-week contract in Durham, North Carolina. This role is designed for professionals seeking to expand their clinical portfolio in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
The Endoscopy unit focuses on routine and surveillance colonoscopies, EGDs, and inpatient bronchoscopies. The department supports rapid patient turnover with a daily census of approximately 28 patients and 23 visits. The team operates three procedure rooms, four pre-procedure rooms, and four post-procedure rooms, with anesthesia support available for the majority of cases. While the department does not perform advanced procedures, the nursing staff plays a critical role in administering conscious sedation and monitoring patient recovery.
The schedule typically runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, though variations may occur, including potential weekend shifts and rotating on-call coverage for nights and holidays. Nurses will be responsible for starting and maintaining IVs, operating bronchoscopy equipment, and handling specimens. The role requires strong charting experience in EPIC and the ability to adapt to varying healthcare protocols. Interdisciplinary support is provided by IV, respiratory services, and pharmacy teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Targeted start dates are June 1 or June 15, 2026. Interviews will be conducted via phone or video call. Successful candidates will complete onboarding modules specific to the specialty, which include pharmacology training, a skills checklist, and a specialty exam.
Travel nursing offers a diverse portfolio of experiences that can deepen your professional profile and prepare you for leadership roles or advanced certifications. Adapting to new facilities challenges your problem-solving skills and critical thinking, while exposure to a variety of cases improves clinical judgment in high-pressure situations. You will join a strong community of travel nurses who share advice and support, and working with diverse teams will enhance your communication skills across different backgrounds.
