About the Position
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join a fast-paced Emergency Room unit in New York, NY. This role is critical for delivering patient-centered care within a high-acuity, acute care hospital setting. The successful candidate will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the highest clinical standards while managing the dynamic needs of trauma and emergency patients.
The Role
In this 13-week contract starting ASAP, you will serve as a vital member of a team-based environment that demands adaptability and strong clinical judgment. Your day-to-day will involve performing comprehensive patient assessments, monitoring ongoing conditions, and administering medications and treatments per physician orders. You will play a key role in patient education, guiding families through care plans and discharge instructions, while maintaining accurate documentation in EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
Work Environment
This position operates on a rotating schedule of 3 days per week, with 12-hour shifts. The ER setting is characterized by its intensity, requiring nurses to manage multiple patients simultaneously, monitor vitals and pain levels, and report clinical changes immediately. Strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols is essential to maintaining a safe environment for both staff and patients.
