This opportunity places a Labor and Delivery RN at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma facility in Anchorage, Alaska, recognized as the USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska. The unit is a high-risk L&D environment featuring 10 OB Triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms. The team manages an average of 7 daily deliveries, with peaks up to 14, alongside a steady influx of triage patients and high-risk antepartum cases.
The role involves a 13-week contract starting July 6, 2026, with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week. While the position is most likely a straight night shift, there is a possibility of a variable schedule where shifts flip every four weeks if coverage for both days and nights is required. Candidates must be willing to work two out of the three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year). The facility utilizes Epic for charting, and staff may float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed.
To apply, candidates must be located at least 50 miles from the facility; locals are not accepted. A valid Alaska RN license is required in hand for an auto-offer, though pending licenses may be submitted (allowing 10-12 weeks for processing). Submissions must include a copy of certifications, references covering one year of experience within the last three years, and any requested time-off (RTO) details.
Candidates are limited to submitting to only one location within the region (PAMC, Seward, Valdez, Saint Elias Specialty Hospital, or Kodiak). Please note that permanent staff must have been separated from Providence for a minimum of three months to return as a traveler. Travelers are limited to a maximum of one calendar year per assignment and must take a six-month break before returning to the same facility.
Housing options in the Anchorage area may be limited, so travelers are encouraged to research local accommodations early. The facility requires Hepatitis B vaccination (titers or declinations are not accepted). All travel compliance modules, which average 16 hours, must be completed prior to the start date.
Prime Staffing is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
