This opportunity places a Registered Nurse in the Interventional Radiology department at a Level III Trauma Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The facility is equipped with a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The role involves supporting a busy department that sees approximately 40-50 patients daily, working alongside a diverse support team including receptionists, lead techs, tech specialists, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and CNAs.
As an IR RN, you will be integral to the procedural workflow, performing tasks such as scrubbing and assisting with angiography procedures, administering sedation, and managing patient monitoring. You will utilize advanced equipment including IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, PACS, and imaging equipment from Siemens and GE. While the primary shift is days, the role includes on-call responsibilities typically ranging from early morning until late afternoon, with a required response time of within 30 minutes. The environment is designed to minimize disruption, with no floating requirements and free parking provided in a secure structure.
To ensure a smooth transition, the assignment includes a 1-2 week orientation period with a dedicated preceptor. This time allows you to familiarize yourself with the specific workflows, equipment, and the EPIC electronic medical record system. Cross Country provides comprehensive support throughout your journey, including private housing or a generous housing allowance, travel reimbursement, and unlimited free continuing education credits.
Candidates must possess a valid RN license in Wisconsin and relevant certifications (BLS, ACLS) to be considered.
