Our story starts with Pete Hietpas, a 21-year-old CNA who, while working in eastern Wisconsin, felt that staffing agencies were exchanging compassion for competitiveness. Determined to change that, he founded Nurses PRN in 1995 to become a model for the healthcare staffing industry—competitive in the marketplace yet maintaining a compassionate heart.
Over the years, the organization grew into a nationwide healthcare staffing company. To be more inclusive of all valued healthcare professionals, including nurses, allied health, locum tenens, and CNAs, the brand evolved into PRN Healthcare, encompassing Nurses PRN and all other divisions.
Our mission is to create authentic, meaningful relationships with healthcare professionals to set them up for success in their dream assignment, whether that be a travel contract, local contract, or per diem shift. This is driven by the simple idea that better care for our healthcare workers leads to better patient care, supported by a dedicated internal staff.
