About the Opportunity

NURSE's Etc. Staffing is seeking an experienced Travel Nurse RN for a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) assignment in Des Moines, Iowa. This 13-week role begins on June 22, 2026, offering a dynamic environment for professionals dedicated to high-acuity cardiac and vascular care.

The Role

As a CVOR nurse, you will serve as a critical member of the surgical team, managing complex cases ranging from open heart procedures to general thoracic and vascular surgeries. The position requires a blend of circulating and scrubbing expertise, with a specific focus on cardiac cases. You will work a 4x10 schedule (40 hours per week) with rotating days off, including a call schedule that covers weekends and occasional overnight shifts.

This role is designed for seasoned travelers who thrive in fast-paced, Level I and Level II trauma settings. Success in this position demands proficiency with EPIC electronic medical systems and a proven track record of recent travel assignments.

Application Process

Interested candidates must submit a resume detailing at least 24 months of current operating room experience, specifically within CVOR. Your submission must include a discipline-specific skills checklist and proof of an active Iowa license (or compact/multistate status) via Nursys. Additionally, please ensure your documentation includes a valid driver's license and current BLS certification from the AHA or ARC.

Note: This position is not open to first-time travelers; candidates must have completed a travel assignment within the last 12 months.

Compensation & Benefits

This travel assignment offers a competitive pay package based on 10-hour shifts. The compensation structure includes a tax-free stipend amount to be determined upon confirmation of the assignment details.
