We are seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) – Generalist for a 13-week travel assignment in Wrangell, Alaska. Key Responsibilities
- check_circlePerform complex laboratory tests and interpret results across multiple disciplines
- check_circleOversee and validate test results, troubleshoot discrepancies, and approve diagnostic reports
- check_circleOperate, calibrate, and maintain sophisticated lab instruments and automated analyzers
- check_circleEnsure compliance with AABB, CAP, CLIA, FDA, and other regulatory standards
- check_circleConduct advanced immunohematology testing including antigen and antibody identification
- check_circleDevelop and implement laboratory policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs
- check_circleSupervise lab personnel, assign workloads, and provide performance evaluations
- check_circleInvestigate transfusion reactions and serologic discrepancies to provide accurate reports
- check_circleCommunicate critical results to physicians and healthcare providers in a timely manner
Requirements
- verifiedOne year of recent experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
- verifiedValid license when needed in compliance with any state regulations
- verifiedNational certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by ASCP or equivalent such as AMT, AAB, HEW certifications
- verifiedCurrent BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- verifiedAbility to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- verifiedProficiency in PC skills
Nice to Have
National certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by ASCP or equivalent such as AMT, AAB, HEW certifications. Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
