Under the guidance of the Site Superintendent and in partnership with the Project Manager, this position is responsible for developing, managing, and completing the job plan for an assigned commercial construction project. The role serves as a critical link between field operations and project leadership, ensuring that job requirements are thoroughly understood and executed according to schedule, budget, and quality standards.
Day-to-day, you will review plans and specifications to gain a comprehensive knowledge of job requirements, then develop a detailed job plan covering schedules, access, manpower, and building requirements. You will act as the primary point of contact for resolving job issues with architects and owners, while regularly communicating construction progress and issues to supervisory personnel, subcontractors, and clients. The role involves managing the project based on progress reports, materials used, and costs, adjusting work schedules as necessary to maintain efficiency.
You will also work closely with the Manager of Field Operations to optimize personnel resources across projects, handling crew mixes and work assignments to manage labor costs. A key part of the position involves resolving problems with the project workforce, terminating craft personnel who do not meet performance standards, and conferring with engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers to improve construction methods. You will be expected to demonstrate integrity, maintain professional standards, and actively participate in a team environment to contribute to the successful completion of team goals.
