As a Transportation Worker, you will be an essential part of the front lines of roadwork, putting in long hours in all types of weather to protect Mainers and their families. Your work will vary significantly with the seasons: from road repair and culvert replacement in the summer to plowing in the winter. No two days are exactly the same, offering a dynamic environment where you will learn new skills continuously.
This role is designed for those driven to accelerate their careers through advancement opportunities and professional development. MaineDOT offers paid Commercial Driving License training and Snowfighter training, allowing you to earn more as you learn. Over time, you will gain the ability to become a certified snow fighter and flagger, with automatic promotional opportunities available as your expertise grows.
