Amazon's Intermodal (AZIM) Operations team drives the end-to-end operational execution of all loads shipped on our 1P network. As the first line of defense in understanding network trends, delays, and exceptions, the team ensures the timely pickup and delivery of freight from vendors, Amazon fulfillment centers, rail yards, and shipper hubs. We are tasked with addressing disruptions, keeping all stakeholders informed, and ensuring the resolution of issues that impact our ability to deliver a world-class transportation product.
As a Transportation Specialist, you will facilitate the continued flow of Amazon's supply chain by resolving disruptions that impact customer experience or the flow of information. You will act as the primary point of contact for carriers and drivers, researching and querying internal tools to make real-time decisions that get trailers and trucks back on track. This role requires you to analyze data to notice trends, drive customer experience, and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams including Transportation Operations Management, Amazon Freight Shippers, rail partners, and fleet managers.
You will thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume call center environment where accountability to yourself, the team, and carriers is paramount. The position involves supporting workload surges and weather-related operations, often requiring significant overtime during designated high-volume peaks. Your calls will be monitored and recorded for training and compliance purposes.
