Loma Linda University Health, established in 1905, is a premier academic medical center in Southern California. The Division of Transplant and Cell Therapy (TCT) within the Hematological Malignancies department operates within a strong collaborative, mentoring, and supportive environment, particularly for graduating fellows and junior faculty.
The division is uniquely positioned as the only Children's Hospital in the Inland Empire providing transplant and cell therapy for children. Our work is supported by the Cancer Center Clinical Trials Unit, dedicated clinic space, infusion centers, an inpatient unit, a new cGMP and TCT laboratory, a FACT accredited TCT program, a fully characterized tumor sample repository, and a state-of-the-art Children's Hospital building opened in 2021, all located on the Medical School campus.
We are seeking energetic faculty clinical investigators at open rank (Assistant, Associate, or Professor) to join our team. This role offers leadership opportunities to develop an academic, clinical research, and patient-centered program in close collaboration with established basic and translational scientists.
Successful candidates will hold a primarily clinical assignment while developing, conducting, and participating in clinical trials and collaborative research in blood and marrow transplantation and cellular immunotherapy. The division focuses on the development and implementation of novel therapies for hematological malignancies, including novel agents, small molecule inhibitors, immune therapies (CAR-T, cell-based therapies, monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, and gene therapy), and autologous and allogeneic hematopoietic stem-cell transplantation for both malignant and non-malignant diseases.
Teaching responsibilities involve the oversight of residents, fellows, and mid-level providers during ambulatory and inpatient activities. Specific hematological disease and treatment modality focus is optional and can be tailored to the candidate's preference.
The campus is located within driving distance of Los Angeles, beach cities, and San Diego. As a California employer, a California residency is required upon the start date. Please note that this opportunity is not eligible for a Conrad 30 waiver.
Interested candidates should submit inquiries directly to the Division Head, Hisham Abdel-Azim, MD, at habdelazim@llu.edu.
Loma Linda University Health values diversity and is committed to equal opportunity in employment.
