About the Role
The BISD School District in Haltom City is seeking a highly motivated and self-starting Plumber to maintain the safety and functionality of our facilities. This role is critical for ensuring a safe, hygienic, and operational learning environment for students and staff. The successful candidate will be a problem solver who thrives with little oversight, balancing independent work with collaborative efforts to deliver excellent customer service.
You will be the first line of defense for the district's plumbing infrastructure, from restrooms and kitchens to complex gas and water systems. Your day will involve a mix of hands-on repair work, preventative maintenance, and strategic planning. You will assess the condition of district facilities, troubleshoot issues ranging from clogged drains to major pipe failures, and execute repairs with a "safety first" mindset. Beyond the physical work, you will collaborate with principals, administrators, and vendors to coordinate maintenance schedules, manage work orders, and contribute to long-range planning.
This position requires a professional who values quality and urgency. You will work under pressure to resolve issues quickly, ensuring minimal disruption to school activities. Whether working alone or leading a small team of helpers, you will model safe working practices and maintain a strong sense of organization and time management.
