This position is dedicated to furnishing quality major and minor in-house repairs to the Reefer fleet in a timely and efficient manner. The role is critical to maintaining fleet cost per mile goals by ensuring high-quality, low-cost repairs are completed promptly while strictly complying with Marten Transport, Ltd. policies and procedures.
You will maintain proficiency in diagnosing and repairing all equipment, including rebuilding components and performing preventative maintenance inspections. A key part of your day involves ensuring the timely and effective repair of any problems identified during these inspections. You will be responsible for completing all repair orders accurately, ensuring labor and parts are charged to the appropriate units, and returning all unused parts to the parts room.
Beyond technical repairs, you will attend all company training classes to retain and demonstrate new skills. The role also requires maintaining a clean work area and performing additional duties or special projects as directed.
This role requires the ability to work in all types of climates, including extreme heat and cold. You must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and stand for long hours. The position involves working various shifts and days to meet operational needs.
Candidates should have a High School Education with one year of post-high school training preferred, or two plus years of experience in tractor maintenance.
