Sierra Donor Services is a designated organ procurement organization (OPO) within the state of New Mexico and a proud member of the DCI Donor Services family. For over four decades, DCI Donor Services has been a leader in working to end the transplant waiting list. Our unique approach to service allows for nationwide donation, transplantation, and distribution of organs and tissues while maintaining close ties to our local communities.
We operate organ procurement and tissue recovery organizations across California, New Mexico, and Tennessee, including the DCI Donor Services Tissue Bank and Sierra Donor Services Eye Bank. Our performance is measured by the way we serve donor families and recipients; to be successful in this endeavor is our ultimate mission. With the help of our employee-led strategy team, we ensure that all communities feel welcome and safe, serving as a model for fairness, belonging, and forward thinking.
Launch your medical career with purpose as a Tissue Recovery Technician. This role offers a unique opportunity to start your healthcare journey with paid, hands-on training and no prior medical experience required. When you join us, you are not just learning surgical skills—you are opening the door to a long-term career in healthcare.
As a Tissue Recovery Technician, you will participate in the recovery, packaging, and labeling of human tissue. The recovery process involves cleaning and setting up the recovery room, performing surgical prep on the donor, conducting aseptic recovery of human tissue, restoring the donor, and decontaminating the recovery room and instruments. You will gain real-world experience with surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and human anatomy in an OR-like environment. This role serves as a powerful steppingstone, providing a foundation for future roles in clinical, surgical, or emergency medical careers.
Note: As a condition of employment, you must be able to obtain a Hospital Badge and EMR Access from all DCI Donor Services hospital partners.
We believe in working hard, supporting each other, and getting the job done right—together. Our team is tight-knit, mission-driven, and always ready to lend a hand. This is more than a job; it is a chance to start a career that truly matters in a workplace that values purpose, growth, and teamwork.
