The Texas Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) is a senior technical position serving as the cornerstone of Ascent Geomatics Solutions' operations across Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and surrounding regions. Anchored by an active Texas RPLS licensure, this role is dedicated to ensuring the technical excellence, quality assurance, and professional ownership of survey deliverables for oil and gas, renewable energy, and infrastructure projects. The position places a strong emphasis on resolving complex boundary issues and producing defensible survey documentation.
While this is not a department management role, the Texas RPLS acts as a trusted technical resource within the Permian program. You will collaborate closely with the Survey Manager, project managers, and field teams to ensure survey work is executed efficiently and aligns with both client expectations and regulatory requirements. As the team expands, the role may evolve to include day-to-day technical guidance and mentorship for survey technicians, helping to balance workload distribution while maintaining high standards of quality and schedule performance.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical judgment and practical experience in oil and gas survey workflows, with the ability to adapt that expertise to renewable energy and infrastructure projects. Success in this role requires balancing accuracy and defensibility with the pace of fast-paced project environments, avoiding unnecessary rigidity while upholding professional standards.
