This position serves as the vital link between classroom operations and the broader mission of Head Start, ensuring that every pre-school child receives developmentally appropriate care that meets rigorous federal performance standards and state licensing regulations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
In this role, you will lead the supervision and coordination of an assigned classroom, fostering a safe and nurturing environment for infants and toddlers. Your day involves implementing individualized activities that align with the program's philosophy while maintaining detailed records of each child's growth and development. You will act as a primary caregiver, observing and assessing progress to tailor educational plans that meet unique needs, including those of children with special needs.
A significant portion of your time is dedicated to building strong partnerships with families. You will facilitate parent involvement through monthly educational planning sessions, home visits, and parent-teacher conferences. Additionally, you will ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, managing everything from accident reporting to child abuse prevention, while supporting the administrative duties of the center as delegated by leadership.
