Care New England Health System (CNE) and its member institutions—including Butler Hospital, Women & Infants Hospital, Kent Hospital, VNA of Care New England, Integra, The Providence Center, and Care New England Medical Group—are trusted organizations fueling the latest advances in medical research. We attract the nation's top specialty-trained doctors and hone renowned services and innovative programs to engage in the important discussions people need to have about their health.
As a key member of the Hospital and MEDNET Answering Service, you will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff. Your primary mission is to receive and dispatch 250-350 calls daily with genuine interest, empathy, and efficiency. This role is critical for maintaining the flow of communication within our healthcare facilities, ensuring that every interaction is handled in a professional, prompt, and courteous manner.
You will thrive in a fast-paced environment where flexibility is essential. The ability to work well under pressure and adapt to schedule changes to meet department needs is vital. Whether you are greeting visitors, dispatching emergency calls (similar to 911), codes, or elevator alarms, or managing A/V equipment and pager services, your calm demeanor and meticulous attention to detail will ensure the highest quality of customer service.
Candidates selected for an interview will be evaluated on their interpersonal skills, ability to handle stressful interactions, and proficiency with data entry and communication tools. The selection process focuses on finding reliable, well-groomed team players who demonstrate excellence in continuous detail handling.
Care New England is an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran, or disability status. We are committed to the Americans with Disability Act, ensuring that external and internal applicants, as well as position incumbents who become disabled, can perform essential job-specific functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Employees are expected to conduct themselves consistent with the ethical standards of the organization, including hospital policy, mission, vision, and values.
