About the Role
The Underwriter/Manager role serves as a pivotal leader within the Technology and Communications Underwriting function. This position executes the full spectrum of underwriting responsibilities, guiding credit analysis and monitoring from early origination discussions through the development of credit approval memos and senior approval forums. Beyond technical execution, the role involves conducting initial financial analysis, due diligence, projection modeling, stress testing, and risk ratings.
A core component of this position is the direct management of analysts, associates, and vice presidents. You will report directly to the Technology and Communications Underwriting Head, fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and continued growth. The role requires leading credit conversations with internal and external auditors, serving as a subject matter expert on policy and procedures, and ensuring the team adheres to Citi's underwriting standards and minimum requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleManage end-to-end credit process and provide recommendations to Risk and Banking partners
- check_circleDirect management of Analysts, Associates, and Vice Presidents including performance reviews
- check_circleBuild and maintain strong working relationships with Risk and Banking partners
- check_circleOrganize and lead reinforcement of new policy and procedures for junior team members
- check_circleLead the recruiting process for Analysts, Associates, and Vice Presidents roles
- check_circleMonitor adherence to AR, QR, CCM, and Transaction milestones and flag potential delays
- check_circleReview and sign off on AR, QR, CCM, and Transaction memos within coverage portfolio
- check_circleLead credit conversations with internal and external auditors including BICR and OCC
Requirements
- verified10+ years experience in commercial credit decision making authority for credits up to $10 million and greater
- verifiedExpert knowledge of credit products (formal credit training required)
- verifiedBachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
