Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) is dedicated to ensuring that all scholars are educated, self-directed, and productive members of society. We strive to create an environment where every student can thrive academically and socially.
As a Special Education Teacher, you will serve as a vital case manager for scholars with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Your role is central to planning instruction and adapting the curriculum to accommodate diverse learning needs. You will function as a collaborative partner with general education teachers, service providers, and families to support scholars in the least restrictive environment.
In this position, you will differentiate instruction to ensure progress according to the district's Academic Plan while developing and evaluating behavior support plans. You will also play a key role in parent and community engagement, maintaining regular, positive contact with families to communicate progress and foster a cooperative relationship between the school and the wider community. By integrating technology and participating in initiatives like Response to Intervention (RtI) and Positive Behavior Support (PBIS), you will help create challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all scholars.
Grand Rapids Public Schools is committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce.
