We are seeking a dedicated Teacher for Health and Physical Education to join our community at Redd Elementary School. This position is unique as it is split between Redd Elementary, Dogwood Middle School, and Henderson Middle School, allowing you to impact students across multiple grade levels within the Richmond Public Schools (RPS) system.
In this role, you will serve as a vital link in our educational mission, fostering physical well-being and health literacy among our students. You will create a classroom environment conducive to learning that is appropriate for the developmental levels of your students, while guiding them toward achieving specific curriculum goals. Your work will involve employing a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet diverse student needs, establishing high expectations for both academic success and classroom behavior.
Beyond the classroom, you will act as a leader within the school community, participating in faculty meetings, chaperoning events, and exercising discretionary authority over day-to-day teaching functions. You will maintain open lines of communication with students and parents, providing regular progress reports and collaborating with RPS specialists to support students with special needs. This role requires a professional who is committed to ongoing growth through workshops, seminars, and advanced coursework.

One year of teaching experience or its equivalency. One year of experience conducting lessons and assessing student progress, maintaining student discipline in the classroom, meeting with parents to discuss student progress and problem areas. Experience providing ongoing academic guidance for students. Bilingual skills to include Spanish.
