As a Grade 1 Teacher, you will help students learn subject matter and skills that contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible individuals. You will be responsible for creating a classroom environment conducive to learning, tailored to the maturity and interests of your students. Your day-to-day work involves planning a program of study that meets individual needs, employing a variety of instructional techniques, and guiding the learning process toward curriculum goals.
You will play a key role in implementing the district's philosophy of education, including supporting the CORE Literacy initiative and WOW (Working on the Works). Beyond instruction, you will assess student accomplishments, diagnose learning abilities, and maintain accurate records in compliance with legal and district requirements. You will also foster a supportive community by being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when necessary.
