This position serves as a vital member of the multidisciplinary evaluation team, dedicated to supporting students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). The role focuses on collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to facilitate the special education identification process. You will collaborate closely with both general and special education teachers to develop and maintain effective academic programming, ensuring that every student receives the tailored support they need to succeed.
As a key liaison, you will provide technical assistance and consultative feedback to teachers regarding student assessments and IEP development. Your work extends to the diagnostic process, where you will assist general education teachers in addressing classroom difficulties through Student Assistance Teams. You will also serve as a representative on IEP teams and in public or non-public meetings, ensuring that the voices of students and families are heard during critical decision-making moments.
The day-to-day involves systematic direct observation of referred students, administering various assessments (including achievement, adaptive behavior, and curriculum-based tests), and helping to develop accommodations. You will also manage the transfer-in process for new students, interpret reports, and maintain essential records and schedules. Continuous professional growth is expected, with a commitment to upgrading knowledge of special education issues to meet future program needs.
