This position is dedicated to providing students with learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The role enables students to develop the competencies and skills necessary to function successfully in society.
As a member of McAllen ISD, you will join a community committed to professional growth and student success. You will work cooperatively with special education teachers, 504 committees, and staff to address the needs of special populations and ensure a supportive environment for all learners.
You will develop and execute instructional plans for in-person, distance, and virtual learning, ensuring alignment with the district's curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines. Your day involves creating a classroom environment conducive to learning, managing student behavior, and utilizing technology to enhance the educational process. You will also monitor student achievement through various testing procedures, communicate regularly with parents and colleagues, and supervise teacher aides or volunteers as needed.
Applicants must hold a Bachelor's Degree and a Texas Teaching Certificate with required endorsements. ESL Certification is required for English Language Arts positions. Candidates with one year of student teaching or an approved internship are preferred.
