We are seeking an exceptional Special Education 1:1 Teacher Assistant to join our community of teachers, students, and stakeholders. This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity designed for those excited to support students with diverse learning, behavioral, and medical needs.
In this role, you will provide support in 1:1, 1:2, or flexible assignments. Whenever possible, Teacher Assistants follow students throughout their PPSD education to provide stability and consistent support. You will collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure each student's success, assisting with instruction, reinforcing IEP goals, and promoting a safe, inclusive learning environment.
Important Note: The safety of school children is a paramount responsibility. All Teacher Assistants must be available for bus monitoring assignments, with additional hours worked compensated accordingly.
This is a one-year-only position. Employees are eligible to apply and interview for other positions and will be placed for the following school year in accordance with certification (if applicable) and the collective bargaining agreement. Please note that this position is contingent upon funding.
