About the Role
As a Core Tax Services Senior Manager, you will serve as a critical member of the office and region leadership team. In this role, you will advise clients on the tax implications of their business objectives, evaluating and selecting alternative actions to lessen tax burdens and compliance costs. You will act as the primary client contact for complex tax issues, applying your knowledge to recognize potential risks, communicate changes in tax policy, and make top-level decisions regarding filing, preparation, and resolution of inquiries from federal and state agencies.
Beyond technical expertise, you will actively participate in marketing, networking, and business development within your area of specialization. You will manage client expectations, resolve tax issues at the highest level, and mentor associates and senior associates, acting as a career advisor while supervising project workloads. This position offers the opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of technical and practical tax issues while leading the implementation of efficient methods to maximize client benefits.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleApply ASC 740 standards to review tax provisions and explain uncertain tax positions to clients
- check_circleDevelop and implement tax strategies to maximize client benefits while managing risk
- check_circleTrain managers and staff on research skills and tax specialization areas
- check_circleConduct top-level reviews of tax returns and resolve complex tax issues with clients
- check_circleParticipate in marketing, networking, and business development to maintain client relationships
- check_circleManage top-level decisions regarding filing, preparation, and resolution of federal and state agency questions
- check_circleSupervise associates and senior associates, including scheduling workload and providing performance feedback
- check_circleAdvise clients on tax implications of business objectives and select actions to minimize tax burden
Requirements
- verifiedBachelors degree required
- verified8+ years of prior relevant tax experience
- verifiedPrior supervisory experience required
- verifiedCPA certification, Attorney, or IRS Enrolled Agent required
Nice to Have
Major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics; Master's in Accountancy or Taxation; Industry expertise in one or more tax specialty; Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to role; Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite; Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software.
