The Tax Intern, International Tax Services is designed to bridge academic knowledge with real-world practice. In this role, you will utilize your educational background and organizational skills under the guidance of experienced team members to assist in consulting clients on complex cross-border tax matters. This position serves as a foundational step for those looking to specialize in international taxation, offering exposure to the development of work plans and the application of tax law to specific client facts.
Your work will involve performing deep-dive tax research and analysis to support international tax advice. You will collaborate with BDO colleagues across approximately 160 countries to ensure US tax rules align effectively with foreign tax laws. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to utilizing tax research databases and software applications to assist clients with their international tax reporting obligations. You will also gain hands-on experience preparing Written Tax Advice (WTA) and analyzing cross-border transactions, including Section 351, 304, 331, 332, and 368 transactions.
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting, Taxation, or a Master of Laws (LLM) program. While a Bachelor's degree is preferred, enrollment in a relevant graduate program is required.
