About the Role

The State of Michigan seeks an experienced and forward-thinking leader to serve as the Administrator of the Tax Analysis Division within the Office of Revenue and Tax Analysis (ORTA). This position provides strategic direction and operational oversight for Michigan's primary fiscal estimating and tax research unit. The Division's mission is to deliver accurate, timely, and transparent fiscal estimates and tax analyses that inform decision makers, strengthen public policy, and support sound state financial management.

As the Administrator, you will direct a team of professional economists responsible for producing high-quality fiscal and legislative analysis. You will define work objectives, establish priorities, and oversee workflow to ensure the Division meets its statutory and policy responsibilities. This role serves as a critical bridge between complex economic data and executive leadership, providing essential analysis and recommendations to the Governor, State Treasurer, and State Budget Director.

You will represent the Department of Treasury in presenting fiscal analyses to stakeholders, including legislators, legislative staff, and the House and Senate Fiscal Agencies. A key part of your day-to-day involves translating complex tax and fiscal issues into clear, actionable insights for policymakers, ensuring that the state's financial decisions are grounded in rigorous, expert analysis.
