Lockheed Martin Space has an immediate opportunity for an experienced System Safety Engineer at our Denver, Colorado facility. This role is designed for individuals who wish to be part of a team developing national defense systems. You will leverage your Systems Engineering knowledge and System Safety expertise to analyze hardware and software, establishing and maintaining system safety requirements to support mission results.
In this position, you will support the Systems Engineering team throughout the lifecycle of the system. Your work will involve detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, interface definition studies, and translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. You will also support Systems Engineering during System Integration, assisting in the verification and validation of system requirements. This role offers a chance to shape a new era in space while building a career tailored to your skills and aspirations.

Experience using MIL-STD-882E, RCC-319/324, and SSCMAN 91-710, or other relevant industry and/or range safety standards. Experience defining safety requirements, influencing design to integrate safety requirements, and verifying safety requirements. Software system safety experience. Experience participating in System Safety Working Groups. Familiarity with MBSE. Familiarity with DOORs. Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Effective communication skills with the ability to engage and interact in group meeting/working environments with team members, development organizations and customers.
