About the Role
This Systems Engineer position is based at the Johns Hopkins MTW Campus in Baltimore, MD, with a hybrid work model that includes 100% remote flexibility. The role is critical to maintaining the integrity of our enterprise infrastructure, focusing on the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Linux/UNIX operating systems, with a specific emphasis on RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
You will serve as a technical leader in designing and supporting Linux environments within Microsoft Azure, managing everything from Virtual Machines to complex networking and storage solutions. The position requires the ability to orchestrate medium to large-scale OS and platform upgrades across hybrid environments, bridging on-premises datacenters with Azure cloud regions. As a key member of the team, you will develop strategic roadmaps for Linux and Azure initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise-scale IT goals while supporting a 24x7 operational environment.

Hiring Process & Application
Candidates for this role must possess a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience. The position requires a minimum of four years of related experience in autonomous administration, programming, maintenance, and security of enterprise platforms.
- Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:39 AM – 5:00 PM.
- On-Call: Participation in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation is required.
- Location: 5801 Smith Ave., Davis Bldg., Baltimore, MD 21209 (Hybrid/Remote).

Requirements
