About the Role
The System Resource ER Registered Nurse (PRN) is a pivotal position dedicated to supporting high-quality, patient-centered care. This role serves as a vital bridge for new graduate nurses and those transitioning into new specialties, offering essential feedback, guidance, and mentoring across multiple units. As a Resource Nurse, you will champion the hospital's standards of nursing practice, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with all accrediting and regulatory requirements while fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleSupport high quality patient-centered care by offering feedback and mentoring to new graduate nurses
- check_circleParticipate in the implementation of nursing care plans by performing direct and indirect patient care
- check_circleAssist with patient preparation for surgery or other medical procedures
- check_circlePerform hourly rounding and respond promptly to call lights and patient requests
- check_circleTranslate complex medical terminology to ensure patients and families understand treatment plans
- check_circleFollow patient and employee safety policies including hand hygiene and isolation procedures
- check_circleObtain and record initial and ongoing patient information including vital signs, intake, output, and blood glucose levels
- check_circlePerform non-medicated support tasks including oral suctioning, catheterization, and basic wound care
- check_circleObtain and collect specimens for diagnostic tests ensuring accurate labeling and timely transfer
- check_circleProvide guidance and education on nursing practice standards, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance
- check_circleAssist with patient mobility, transfers, positioning, and activities of daily living such as bathing and eating
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's Degree in Nursing
- verifiedCurrently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license
- verifiedBasic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
- verifiedAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- verifiedPreceptor Training within 90 days of hire
- verifiedNational Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) within 30 days of hire
- verifiedCrisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) within 90 days of hire
- verifiedBusiness Emergency Response Training (BERT) within 90 days of hire
- verifiedNeonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 12 months of hire
- verifiedPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 12 months of hire
Nice to Have
Master's Degree in Nursing, 1+ years' experience in a leadership role, 1+ years' experience as a preceptor
