About the Role
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Tech contributes to the company's mission by assisting with the provision of safe and effective nursing care within the operating room. This role involves direct patient care, scrubbing and assisting the surgeon at the operative field, surgical room turnover between cases, and consistent collaboration with the Registered Nurse in clinical decision making.

Kissimmee Surgery Center is located in Kissimmee, Florida. Our AAAHC accredited center is a top revenue-producing facility for Surgery Ventures powered by HCA Healthcare. We are a bilingual facility that performs over 400 procedures a month, offering services in endoscopy, gastroenterology, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, ENT, podiatry, and urology.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleAssist with direct patient care and observation in the operating room
- check_circleScrub and assist the surgeon at the operative field during procedures
- check_circlePrepare the operative suite by checking and gathering supplies, equipment, and instruments
- check_circleMaintain surgical asepsis when handling instruments, sponges, sutures, drains, needles, and dressings
- check_circleCollect and record pertinent clinical data in the medical record
- check_circleTurn over the O.R. suite between cases by disposing of trash, linens, and cleaning equipment
- check_circlePrepare procedure rooms for the following day by setting up equipment and pulling cases accurately
- check_circleCollaborate with the Registered Nurse in clinical decision making
Requirements
- verifiedGraduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- verifiedOne year experience in an operating room setting
- verifiedValid BCLS Certification upon employment
Nice to Have
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program. One year experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
