About the Role
Restart is the single largest employment programme ever contracted out by the UK Government, representing the most critically monitored and evaluated employment initiative in the country's history. Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, the Supply Chain Manager plays a pivotal role in the delivery of this contract. The success of this role is critical to meeting contract requirements, as you will manage the outputs and performance of the supply chain partners responsible for delivering approximately 50% of the overall contract value (circa £20-25m per annum).
Beyond revenue generation, you will be directly accountable for ensuring the supply chain adheres to all Customer Service Standards, exceeds customer satisfaction measures, and delivers on social value commitments. Supported by internal resources and guided by the Supply Chain Director, you will manage the direct performance of all supply chain partners, their teams, and the 300-400 FTEs employed to deliver the service. Your mandate includes driving continuous improvement to ensure year-on-year performance gains and fostering effective collaboration both within the CPA and with external providers.
A key aspect of this position involves working closely with the Restart Service Delivery Director to ensure Maximus and SCP delivery are complementary, fulfilling the commitment to create a 'Restart Alliance'. You will be expected to foster a positive, engaging culture across all partners, supporting workforce training, development, and employee health and wellbeing while managing risks and under-performance through formalised processes.
