About the Role
This position serves as a strategic partner to improve Supplier Performance and support all supplier activities, ranging from production quality and new product launches to supplier assessment and continuous improvement. You will act as the primary quality assurance resource for the supply base, driving problem identification, resolution, and change management.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with Operations, Quality Engineering, Strategic Sourcing, and New Product Development teams. Your efforts will directly impact key metrics such as increasing PPAP approval rates, lowering scrap dollars, and expanding supplier capabilities. The role requires leading continual improvement projects, championing Kaizen events, and managing cost reduction programs within the supply base. You will also oversee the supplier approval process, including assessments and audits, and maintain rigorous documentation of action lists and improvement plans.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- verifiedMinimum of 5 years' experience in Supplier Development or related discipline
- verifiedStrong manufacturing, process, quality systems and root cause analysis experience
- verifiedDemonstrated experience in problem solving using formal methodologies (8D, A3 etc.)
- verifiedDemonstrated experience in supplier audits and selection
- verifiedKnowledgeable and hands on experience in application of Lean and Six Sigma
- verifiedKnowledge and application of AIAG quality tools (APQP: PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, etc.)
- verifiedDemonstrated knowledge and ability to coach suppliers on latest revision of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances (GD&T)
- verifiedDemonstrated experience in Supplier Risk Management
Nice to Have
Injection molding experience; knowledge of metal fabrication, painting, electronics, and plastic extrusion; proficiency with Epicor ERP system; ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) certification; ISO9001:2015 or IATF 16949:2016 Lead or Internal Auditor certification; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
