This role is embedded within the Supply Chain Management department at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, Florida. The team operates under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager or Director, serving as a critical hub for the Health System's inventory and supply operations. The department supports a multi-function environment, ensuring that clinical and administrative units receive the necessary resources to function effectively.
As a key leader in this department, you will provide direction and supervision for all daily supply operations. Your day-to-day focus involves coordinating staff scheduling, assisting in the development of policies and business processes, and managing inventory areas across the Health System. You will act as a liaison between the supply chain and client departments, resolving errors and complaints in a timely manner to maintain operational continuity.
Beyond daily oversight, you will be responsible for monitoring the departmental budget, identifying variances, and making recommendations to correct them. The role also entails driving performance improvement and cost efficiencies through the design and implementation of new strategies. You will play a direct role in the human capital side of the department by interviewing, training, evaluating, and disciplining support staff as necessary.
Candidates for this position are expected to have a minimum of three years of supervisor experience in supply or inventory management. The role requires strong interpersonal, communication, and customer relation skills, along with proficiency in computer systems and basic mathematics. While an associate degree is preferred, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
