As a Supervisor at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, you will lead the Lab CBMC team during evening shifts. In this salaried position, you will coordinate and actively participate in the execution of routine standardized biological and biochemical tests, alongside more complex blood procedures that are critical for physician diagnosis and patient clinical management.
You will serve as a key decision-maker, responsible for identifying results or operational issues that require immediate referral to the Medical Director, Laboratory Director, or Manager. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Chair of Pathology to fulfill additional tasks as needed, ensuring the laboratory operates smoothly and safely.
To succeed in this role, candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or an equivalent qualification based on CLIA and CAP standards, supported by a minimum of five years of experience in the area of responsibility. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective team leadership and cross-departmental collaboration.
While ASCP or AMT certification is preferred, the primary focus is on your ability to apply specialized principles and techniques in Blood Banking gained through formal academic training and professional experience. All selected candidates are expected to successfully complete all required Orientation Programs to ensure alignment with our safety and operational standards.
