The Supervisor of Instrument Technicians leads a team of hourly union technicians specializing in precision mechanical instrument assemblies, electro-optic components, and fiber optic sensor integration. This role serves as a critical bridge between technical staff and the workforce, translating engineering needs into actionable work plans.
In this position, you will manage the daily operations of the Assembly Lab, overseeing scheduling, performance evaluations, and the hiring process for ten or more Electrical/Mechanical Assembly Technicians. You will interface directly with engineering teams to provide constructive feedback on design and build issues, materials, and processes. Your day-to-day involves managing lab operations, including planning for materials and consumables, overseeing preventative maintenance for lab equipment, and ensuring all employees maintain current training and certifications. Additionally, you will support facility planning activities and manage demand using the Epicor ERP tool suite to ensure customer needs are met.
