The Superintendent serves as the primary on-base point of contact for project employees, sub-contractors, and clients. This role is critical for providing onsite management of mid to large-scale construction projects, ensuring effective maintenance of customer relationships and alignment with client expectations. Reporting directly to the Program Manager, the Superintendent acts as the central hub for coordinating field activities, overseeing safety compliance, and driving project success through strong leadership and communication.
In this position, you will directly supervise and coordinate all field activities, managing project crews to ensure quality workmanship, efficiency, and high morale. You will work closely with the Project Manager to navigate changing requirements, scheduling adjustments, and subcontractor issues as they arise. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, requiring you to recognize potential issues early and collaborate with the Contractor Quality Control Officer and Site Safety Health Officer to maintain project standards.
This role requires the ability to work regularly both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including snow, rain, sleet, extreme winds, and ice storms. You may be exposed to extreme temperatures, high noise hazards, fumes, airborne particles, and electrical shock hazards. The position involves performing tasks across all areas of a construction project, including climbing ladders up to 60 feet and crawling for distances of 50 feet.
