As a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens, you will learn to provide the best patient experience by assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team members in accordance with state and federal regulations. This role is designed for individuals enrolled in a school of pharmacy program who are eager to model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience while championing pharmacy policies and customer service best practices.
You will serve as a vital link between the pharmacy team and the community, engaging customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Your day-to-day involves resolving customer issues, answering questions, and developing strong relationships to ensure a positive experience. You will also learn from store and pharmacy team members, field leadership, and patients to grow your skills in healthcare and pharmacy.
Under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will assist in the practice of pharmacy, including entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions. You will also support patient care services within the state scope of practice, such as patient counseling, blood pressure monitoring, and medication therapy management. Additionally, you will play a key role in inventory management, maintaining a clean and orderly pharmacy environment, and handling administrative tasks like registering sales and managing telephone calls.
