A growing national firm is expanding its Columbus team and seeking a talented Engineering Manager – Substation Design to lead critical infrastructure projects. This role is pivotal in driving the design of high-voltage substations, ensuring alignment with client standards, and fostering a culture of technical excellence and team growth.
As the Engineering Manager, you will direct the design of high-voltage substations ranging from 15kV to 500 kV. Your day will involve managing drawing development workflows and CAD-based design operations while ensuring all projects meet rigorous quality benchmarks and safety codes. You will serve as a mentor to junior staff, facilitating skill development and knowledge transfer, while simultaneously building and maintaining long-term client relationships to support business goals.
A key part of your mission is to optimize task execution across multiple departments, ensuring that scope, schedule, and budget targets are consistently met or exceeded. You will act as the bridge between disciplines, managing cross-functional collaboration to solve complex problems that impact quality, budget, and risk.
