This position serves as a vital link in the continuum of care for individuals seeking substance use disorder treatment. The role focuses on providing comprehensive case management, counseling, and group facilitation to help clients develop personalized treatment plans and achieve their recovery goals. You will work within the STARS framework, ensuring clients navigate the complex landscape of mental health and social services in Spokane County effectively.
Your day begins with preparing client admissions, which involves conducting screenings, assessing potential medical issues, recording vitals, and completing all necessary agency forms. You will lead educational and process groups, guiding clients through their recovery journey while managing medication protocols. A significant portion of your time is dedicated to maintaining accurate progress notes and documentation within client files and the Electronic Medical Records system.
Collaboration is key; you will follow individual service plans created by mental health staff and facilitate client motivation to engage in further treatment. You are expected to possess a working knowledge of local agencies to help clients move smoothly through identified systems. Throughout your shift, you will communicate critical information during handoffs, perform crisis interventions as needed, and ensure the safety of all clients and staff by strictly adhering to STARS policies and procedures.
Candidates must hold an Associate degree or equivalent, or possess 6–12 months of related experience. Successful applicants will be required to obtain the minimum education requirements per WAC246-811-030 to become a Substance Use Disorder Professional and maintain their Washington state SUDP/T license. The role involves attending mandatory staff meetings and monthly supervisory trainings to stay current with protocols.
