Serco is the prime contractor on the SHAPM contract, managing the acquisition and construction of submarines for the U.S. Navy. Our Team Submarine concept unifies diverse submarine-related activities into a single, submarine-centric organization. This structure eliminates traditional stovepipe processes that historically created inefficiencies in research, development, acquisition, and maintenance. By fostering improved communication among various offices, Team Submarine drives the overall success of the United States Submarine Force.
As the Americas division of Serco Group, plc, Serco employs over 9,000 people across 100+ sites in Defense, Citizen Services, and Transportation. We strive to make an impact every day, helping clients deliver vital services more efficiently while increasing satisfaction for end customers. We serve every branch of the U.S. military, numerous federal civilian agencies, the Intelligence Community, and international governments. Wherever you work and whatever you do, we invite you to discover your place in our world—a place where every contribution matters and you can count on making a difference.
As a Submarines Certification Specialist, you will provide programmatic support to a NAVSEA customer in the Washington, DC area. This role exists to ensure the safety of our sailors and the effectiveness of our military defense by coordinating the rigorous certification processes for U.S. submarines. You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), bridging the gap between technical requirements and program execution.
In this position, you will be at the heart of the certification lifecycle, coordinating all matters related to Ship Certification correspondence for Fast Cruise, Sea Trials, Follow-On certifications, and URO certifications. You will analyze requirements to develop program reporting, create evaluation plans and metrics, and support studies that evaluate program accomplishments and compliance. Your work will involve preparing coordinated reports, presentations, and briefings for senior decision-makers, as well as developing white papers on program status or issues impacting the Navy. You will interface with stakeholders across NAVSEA and other Department of Navy organizations to track action items and ensure all deliverables meet Serco's Quality Assurance Program.
If you are passionate about supporting our military and sailors, we encourage you to submit your application through Serco's external career site. The application window is open for no more than 60 days, and we encourage prompt submission as the position may close earlier if filled.
