About the Role

As a Substitute Teacher, you play a vital role in ensuring that every child can pursue their education smoothly and completely, even in the absence of their regular classroom teacher. Your presence provides continuity, maintaining the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which you are assigned.

Day in the Life

Your day begins by reporting to the building principal or school secretary upon arrival. You will review the daily plans and schedules with the principal, department head, or team leader to align with the lesson plans prepared by the absent teacher. Throughout the day, you will teach the outlined lessons, oversee pupil behavior during class, lunch, and recess, and adhere to all policies and rules that govern regular teaching practice.

If you encounter situations not specified in the lesson plan, you will consult with the principal or team leader before initiating any new procedures. At the end of the day, you will document the assignments made and provide notes on student behavior for the absent teacher. You are expected to maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
