About the Role
This is a great start to a printing career for a Structural Designer who understands how creativity, engineering, and print production come together. We are looking for a highly skilled professional with deep experience in the printing, packaging, corrugated, folding carton, and POP display industry to create innovative structural solutions that perform flawlessly from concept through production.
In this role, you will bring ideas to life through innovative structural design for packaging, point-of-purchase displays, and specialty print products. You will combine engineering expertise, creative problem-solving, and production knowledge to develop functional, visually compelling solutions. You will partner with clients and cross-functional teams to create designs that enhance brand impact, optimize performance, and drive production efficiency.
You will work on impactful retail packaging, dimensional print marketing, and point-of-purchase display programs for nationally recognized brands. Location and Schedule
This position is based at our One Allied Way location in Manchester, CT, and is an on-site role only. The shift available is the 1st shift, running from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

- check_circleEngineer packaging solutions that balance structural integrity, visual impact, manufacturability, and cost efficiency
- check_circleDevelop white samples, mock-ups, and production prototypes using flatbed sample tables and cutting systems
- check_circleOptimize material usage, substrate selection, and load-bearing performance for shipping and retail environments
- check_circleEnsure graphics align accurately with folds, scores, glue areas, and finishing specifications
- check_circleCollaborate with graphic designers, prepress, sales, and production teams to ensure seamless execution
- check_circleTroubleshoot structural and production issues during prototyping and manufacturing stages
Requirements
- verifiedHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- verified3+ years of structural design experience in printing, packaging, corrugated, or POP display industry
- verifiedAdvanced proficiency in ArtiosCAD, Impact CAD, Kasemake, Adobe Illustrator, Esko DeskPack
- verifiedHands-on experience operating Kongsberg or Zünd CAM sample tables
- verifiedStrong understanding of folding carton construction, corrugated engineering, packaging weight distribution, structural load-bearing calculations, retail display assembly
- verifiedExperience creating prototypes, white samples, and production-ready packaging solutions
- verifiedKnowledge of print production processes, finishing methods, die-cutting, gluing, and converting
Nice to Have
High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience in Structural Packaging Design, POP Display Design, Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechanical or Materials Engineering, Retail Display Manufacturing, or Dimensional Print Marketing.
