Google's infrastructure needs go far beyond server computers. As Google's products and services scale the globe, the Strategic Negotiation team works behind the scenes to secure the physical foundation for Google's future—everything from underwater cables to physical data center space. We combine deep market knowledge with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost-effective solutions that support Google's massive infrastructure growth.
Google Cloud accelerates every organization's ability to digitally transform its business and industry. We deliver enterprise-grade solutions that leverage Google's cutting-edge technology, helping customers in more than 200 countries and territories enable growth and solve their most critical business problems.
As a Strategic Negotiator, you will play a key role in driving location strategy, site selection, and portfolio management for new and existing data center sites and related infrastructure. You will primarily support the development of the company's global economic development program for data centers.
In this role, you will negotiate directly and work closely with energy and location strategy teams to advise on economic development agreements. You will help establish standard operating policies and procedures to drive the pursuit of sustainable agreements. Your knowledge of existing economic development programs, state and local tax and regulatory environments, and company goals will position you to influence key decisions. Your successful negotiations have the potential to save Google millions of dollars in operating costs and impact every part of the business.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including acquisition, development, policy, legal, tax, data center operations, and HR—to communicate strategy frameworks and address emerging issues. You will also support the team's development, aggregation, tracking, and reporting of portfolio-related metrics such as Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
