As a Store Driver, you will serve as a vital link between our store and our commercial customers. This entry-level position is designed to support the delivery of automotive parts while assisting with essential inventory and store tasks. Whether you are looking for a part-time or full-time opportunity, this role offers a dynamic day-to-day environment where safety and customer service are paramount.
You will be responsible for safely delivering parts to customers, picking and staging orders, and managing returns and cores. Beyond the road, you will play an active role in maintaining store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, and the parking lot, as well as handling general stocking duties for both the truck and back stock. This position requires a blend of driving expertise and on-the-ground operational support to ensure our customers receive their parts on time and our store remains organized.
To thrive in this role, you will need basic driving and navigation abilities, along with the capacity to use our delivery board systems effectively. Strong communication skills are essential for building friendly relationships with customers, peers, and management. You should be comfortable locating and stocking parts, operating inventory systems, and adhering to strict safety protocols.
The ideal candidate can read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and parts catalogs, while applying basic math skills to manage transactions and measurements accurately. Flexibility is key, as you may be required to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends to meet business needs. Prior experience in automotive parts is preferred, and you must possess a valid driver's license and fleet safety certification.
This role involves a mix of indoor and outdoor work. While much of the job takes place inside the store, you will occasionally be outside exposed to various weather conditions, such as when installing batteries or wiper blades. The environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, chemicals, and moderate noise levels.
Physically, the job requires the ability to walk or stand for extended periods, use hands and fingers to handle items, and lift or move up to 50 pounds frequently (occasionally up to 100 pounds). Specific vision abilities, including close, distance, and color vision, are necessary to perform these duties safely and effectively.
