About the Team

At Disney Experiences, our motto is simple: "We create happiness." Our mission is to inspire magic by enabling teams to push the limits of entertainment and create innovative built environments. The Architecture & Facilities Engineering (A&FE) team is dedicated to turning ideas and thoughts into physical reality, supporting a wide range of project types across the Disneyland Resort. From attractions and maintenance to food, merchandise, and entertainment, our department handles everything from minor renovations to new facility developments, ensuring the resort operates seamlessly for millions of guests.

About the Role

As a Staff Mechanical Engineer, you will serve as the Owner's Representative, acting as the technical expert for mechanical engineering issues throughout the project lifecycle. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between concept and construction, managing design efforts for both in-house and outside resources. You will collaborate closely with diverse Disney project teams, including Facilities Asset Management (FAM), Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI), Entertainment, and Operations, to ensure every project meets Disney's rigorous design standards and code compliance requirements.

In this position, you will guide projects from initial concept through final construction, overseeing shops, rides, hotels, shows, and maintenance facilities. Your day-to-day involves reviewing drawings and specifications, conducting site visits, and resolving design issues creatively. You will also serve as the Engineer of Record on assigned projects, signing and sealing construction documents when required. Beyond design, you will perform field work to assess mechanical infrastructure, research historical records in the Disneyland Archives, and liaise with city officials to ensure all external requirements are met. Your focus will always be on constructability, efficiency, and long-term maintainability to deliver the best value for the resort.

Hiring Process

Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted directly by the hiring team. The process typically involves a review of qualifications followed by discussions regarding technical expertise and cultural fit within the A&FE team.

Equal Opportunity

Disney is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
