About the Role
Are you a nurse who is passionate about teaching others? The Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Prevention nurse acts as the educator for the facility, conducting orientation and in-service educational programs for the nursing staff. In addition, this role is responsible for designing systems and approving actions to prevent or control infections, based on surveillance reports of infections and infection potential among residents and staff.

- check_circleProvides general facility orientation to new employees and ongoing in-service education
- check_circlePlans and maintains a monthly and annual schedule of planned education programs
- check_circleReports communicable diseases to the state as required by law
- check_circleDesigns, plans, and provides educational programs for all shifts and departments
- check_circleConducts outbreak investigations and initiates control measures
- check_circleParticipates in staff evaluation by providing attendance records and performance observations
- check_circleEnsures CNAs and STNAs meet the annual 12-hour in-service requirement
- check_circleMonitors healthcare-associated infections and assesses prevention problems
- check_circleInitiates, reviews, and revises infection prevention policies and procedures
Requirements
- verified1-3 years of experience in long-term care setting preferred
- verifiedCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state
- verifiedCPR certification
